#TDAIHJ Day 28 Hitoyoshi Rest Day

Wednesday 29 October (Kyushu island)

Morning view from room
A wider sweep + with sound

The morning started with an early visit to the onsen (spa) – which I had to myself.

After breakfast through to early afternoon was the usual catching up on personal communications and blog posts. Interspersed with a visit to the supermarket across the road for lunch and riding snack supplies.

In addition to the sound and lights, the aide was heavily scented

Around 3pm, I went for a walk around the town

With a large North American contingent, there was no way that Halloween was going to pass us by. So first task. Was to purchase some Halloween paraphernalia- Padraig recommended a kids toy shop (Kugomaland?) – for a mask, and DAISO for other costume items.

Otherwise known as the ¥100 (AUD $1) Shop.
Prior to the trip Danielle/Liz had also mentioned these shops as a great place for cheap bits and pieces.

Having met upcoming (Friday 31 October) social obligations, the next stop was the Aoi Aso Shrine.

Next stop on the walk was the Eikokuji Temple (Ghost Temple).

Lastly it was off to the Hitoyoshi Castle Ruins.

On the way to the castle ruins, I came across some students cycling – what stood out was that they were wearing helmets. Most of a similar style – like it was part of the school uniform.

A great time of day to be here.
What’s to come.
