Alba Iulia (Day Thirty Three)

Alba Iulia is in the heart of Transylvania. I never imagined that I’d visit Transylvania one day – so it’s cool to spend a rest day here.

So what does one do after 5 days riding in temperatures of mid 30’s? Why, do a 2 hour walking tour starting at 12:30pm in similar temperatures of course! Have to ensure we remain acclimatised. Helmut and Pat (USA) had generously invited others to join them in a walking tour of the main tourist attraction i.e. The fortress with a local guide – so Bill, Matt and myself took up this offer. Despite the heat it was well worth it. Interesting history delivered by Dan the local guide arranged by Helmut and Pat.

  1. Bone to pick Steve! I just take a quick look at my emails just before I close for the night and lo and behold there is a new Blogg from you which I HAVE to read immediately. Yawn! Not the Blogg but my lack of sleep. Loving it. Most ipressed with Alba Lubia looks a lovely city. Love
